Text Book Example

One year later…

And no verses have been written
Some sort of waiting game I wonder

I live a new life now
Much more materially content
Even have a new job
I feel lucky to be working
Yet a dull ache for fulfillment
still irritates me
I believe it is the job
relationships are only paint
that color the mood for
the day’s tasks and chores

No poetry has come for me
and that makes me sad

A classic example of
a longed for expectation

I’ve been told I hang on too long
That I shouldn’t try so hard

Some things and people are worth holding
No matter for how long it takes
